Be aware of potential delays at US destinations
Passengers who are flying and then starting their cruise in the USA must be aware of the potential long queues and waits brought on by the heightened security following the terrorism attempt in December 2009 on a flight from Amsterdam to Detroit.
Carnival Cruise Lines spokesman Vance Gulliksen said that a couple Carnival ship departures were delayed in order to wait for flights, but that the cruises made their first scheduled ports of call on time and with no problems.
