Hurtigruten (Norwegian Coastal Voyage) has a fleet of working coastal ships cruising the spectacular Norwegian coastline and fjords from Bergen right round to the Russian border within the Arctic Circle.  Cruises are informal and operate the year round although the most popular are in the summer. The itineraries remain the same as these ships carry passengers and cargo to over 30 ports, most never visited by cruise liners.

There are eleven ships in the fleet carrying mail, general cargo and cars as well as passengers. They range from traditional older-style vessels to modern ships offering the latest in cabin comforts but facilities are limited..
